Why should I baby proof?

I grew up without baby proofing and I’m fine.

Do I really need all these annoying latches?

Why should I use this gate when I could just close a door?

These plugs are hard to get out. Why do I need all of this?

The truth is, while many grow up happy and safe without any home precautions, every year 5000 small children in the United States are not so lucky.

When an infant is not very active, it feels useless to start baby proofing. But infants become active toddlers very quickly and even the calmest baby will start getting into your kitchen cabinets, office supplies and all sorts of items around the house you never thought twice about. We recommend proofing your home when your baby is between 7 and 9 months so that you will be more comfortable with the changes as your child grows.

Keeping an eye on all your kitchen cabinets and drawers can be a handful, but after your toddler encounters one difficult cabinet, they may never be tempted again. Other babies will test every drawer every single day. It’s important to have high quality products that remain strong against toddlers but are still convenient for adults to use and aren’t too intrusive.

A gate can be a lifesaver in front of a staircase or in an office doorway and will keep your toddler out of the formal areas of your home. Remembering to close every door in the house every time you pass through can be time consuming and result in a headache. You could pay $40 for a cheap gate that takes half a minute to operate every time. Our gates come fully installed, are easy to use, and will maintain the open spaces in your home.
